The Historic Matson Field, Moorhead Baseball Stadium

Matson Field, located in North Moorhead at 1010 13th St. N., is home to the Moorhead Blues & Golds American Legion baseball teams, as well as the Moorhead High School teams.
Baseball has been played at Matson Field since the early 1950s. It was named after a local resident, John Matson, who was a World War II veteran and former Moorhead High baseball coach.
Matson Field is in DIRE NEED of renovations. The last major renovations were in 2008, which was Phase 1 of 3. The other two were never completed.
NEW PLAN INCLUDES:
- A covered grandstand
- Main concourse w/ updated concession stand
- Handicap seating
- Press box
- New field design
- Scoreboard
- Berms along the first & third baselines
These renovations are estimated to cost $2 million. Thanks to a few gracious donations that have been made by the Moorhead American Legion, The F-M Convention & Visitors Bureau, and , they are well on their way, but need the FM community to help in the home stretch. --> Anyone can sponsor a seat for $1,000, with the option to pay in full or spread out over five years!
