Let's Talk About It: A Black Men's Empowerment event!

"Let's Talk About It" is a group discussion and the jist is always "conscious conversations about taboo topics in the black and brown community. Where men and women can come together and share their unique perspectives.

April is stress awareness month, and this conversation will be dedicated to black men. For April, this group discussion will center around the issues that black men face in the world. Mental health, barriers to success, self care, and stress management will be main touch points.

Because there are so many women's empowerment events, it can feel like no one is looking out for our men. So I want to encourage our brothas to come out and share some of the things that may be troubling them. This event is also open to women who want to gain a better understanding of the adversity black men experience, from their own unique perspectives.

We will have featured guest Dr. Johnny Pierce (Psy.D.) licensed clinical psychologist coming to talk to us about about therapy. Johnny has experience with mild to severe mental health and substance-related challenges. He concentrates on helping clients overcome anxiety, anger, depressive/mood disorders, and trauma by employing a respectful, direct, and solution-focused style. He is a black, male psychologist and we are grateful to have him join us at this event.
