Celebrate Black History Month with a joyful morning of storytelling, creativity, and community connection at Underground Books!

Join us for a live reading of Prince: A Little Golden Book Biography by acclaimed children’s author Nikki Shannon Smith, known for Brown Baby Lullaby and I Am Brown. Her stories center imagination, affirmation, and cultural pride values that shine in Oak Park.

After storytime, children will take part in an interactive “I Have a Dream” craft activity, using hand and heart templates to share their hopes for the world. Families will leave with free books and a heart full of inspiration!

This event is designed for children ages 5–12 and their caregivers to enjoy together. Come celebrate literacy, creativity, and the spirit of Oak Park.
