Let's Play Outside – Free Youth Bike Ride with BikeLA! (Lower LA River)

Come join us for a fun-filled day of biking along the Lower Los Angeles River! This event is perfect for young riders looking to explore the outdoors and enjoy a leisurely bike ride along the historic rive path. Meet us at 72nd Street Equestrian Park (550 E 72nd St) and get ready to pedal your way through a scenic route. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to get some fresh air and exercise while having a blast! See you there!

All participants will be received bike helmets provided by LA Metro.

About the Let’s Play Outside Campaign

On Tuesday, June 25, 2024, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the Outdoor Children’s Bill of Rights outlining 10 experiences that every child growing up in Los Angeles County should have regardless of race, income, gender identity, ability, and/or geographic location:

5. Follow a Trail

6. Camp Under the Stars

7. Ride a Bike

8. Go Boating In a Lake

9. Connect With Wildlife

10. Plant a Seed

In celebration of the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation’s 80th Birthday, we are launching the “Let’s Play Outside” campaign that will provide over 200 FREE outdoor experiences that celebrate the critical importance of childhood play!

“Let’s Play Outside” represents a commitment to all children growing up in Los Angeles County!

Please help us reach as many children and families as possible. Research has increasingly shown that play and direct exposure to nature is a necessary component of a child’s physical and emotional well-being, and cognitive development.
