Congratulations! You just bought your Leviathan box, assembled your heroic Space Marines, and now you can paint your models! But what colors should you paint them? What techniques do you need to know? How does Drybrushing work? You are in luck! Warhammer Springfield is hosting a FREE painting class to showcase painting techniques and answer questions. Bring your models and painting gear; we will help get those models Battle Ready in no time! Check out the event schedule and join us for some Warhammer fun!
✅ Each hobbyist needs to bring a few supplies to this painting event. If you don't have some of these items, no worries. Warhammer Springfield has everything you need available in-store to purchase.
- Bring your Leviathan Space Marine models OR
- Bring any of your Space Marine models
++ This painting event will focus on the Leviathan miniatures, but all of these techniques will apply to any Space Marine model. ++
- PRE-PRIME your models before you arrive at this painting event.
- Bring your painting cup
- Bring your paintbrushes! Each Hobbyist will need a dry brush, shade brush, medium base brush, and small layer brush.
- Bring your paints! You will need Base, Layer, and Shade paints if you are attending all three classes.
✅ 4-5PM "Base & Layer Paint." All Space Marines need a good Basecoat. Bring your primed models, and we will work on getting that base color and building up pigment colors with Base & Layer paints.
✅ 5-6PM "Shading Your Space Marines." Getting a solid baseline of colors only goes so far. To help define features and details on your miniatures, you need to use a Shade paint to help bring out those dimensions and create depth on your Space marines.
✅ 6-7PM "Drybrush Techniques." Your Space Marines are starting to look pretty good! You have your Chapter colors set, and the Shade paint has added dimension and depth to your miniatures. Now what? Dry brushing is the perfect technique to highlight your miniature's edges, add color, and quickly finish the model.
