Join Movimiento Cosecha GR and GR Rapid Response to ICE by attending the Kent County Commission meeting on Thursday, February 13 at 8:30am on the 3rd floor of the County Building.
We are demanding that Kent County officials 1) Declares the county as a sanctuary to undocumented immigrants, and; 2) Commits to preventing the Kent County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Services, and Jail from cooperating with Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials and any law enforcement agency that seek to surveil, arrest, detain and deport undocumented immigrants.
Anyone who attends will have a chance to speak during public comment in order to support these demands. The Kent County Building is right next to City Hall. You can park under the Calder Plaza and enter the County building from there. Unfortunately, Kent County does not validate parking, so you will have to pay for parking while attending the Kent County Commission meting.
The Kent Council Commission Chamber is on the 3rd floor and we anticipate a large turnout, thus we encourage people wear masks.
