Class Length: 8 weeks, meets 10am - 1pm each Monday
Class Description: Rushing to glaze? Pots not looking how you actually want them to look? Let's focus on the finish! Bring your already constructed pots (leatherhard and bisqueware) and let's deep dive on finishing styles. Learn surface design techniques including slip trailing, underglaze illustration, sgraffito, and carving and then we'll glaze in new and thoughtful ways. Bubble glaze, wax resist decoration, vinyl stickers, underglaze transfers. We'll talk about making test tiles and cohesive collections.
Age Limitations: Ages 16 & Up
Supplies Included: Tuition covers use of studio glazes, slips, stains, all firings, and use of communal tools and equipment. Clay is not covered in this class.
Additional Supplies: Students should plan on bringing unfinished pots to class each week. (Leatherhard and/or bisqueware)
