For years, students and faculty from The University Speaking Center at UNC Greensboro have served as communication coaches to Peacehaven Community Farm's Core Members. In 2021 we launched a new partnership with Peacehaven called Let’s Communicate

Let’s Communicate is an open enrollment weekly activity-driven oral communication program for adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in the Greensboro area. Participants and their caregivers will benefit from the oral communication competencies developed through improv and experiential-based engagement. Caregivers are asked to stay for the duration of the program. The level of participation for caregivers is a personal choice.

Repeat attendance is encouraged.

Each week will have a different focus to practice communication skills.

This programming will occur outdoors on campus between the McNutt Building and the Moore Humanities and Research Administration Building located on Forest Street.

Parking is across the street at the Oakland Parking Deck. Attendees will need to pay-by-hour for parking. Rates are $2 for the first hour, $1 each additional hour, up to $10 maximum daily per entry.

Additional free parking might be found in two hour parking on Forest Street or Highland Avenue. Drivers might find Oakland Avenue has available free, non-time-restrictive parking designated by parking signs. Please obey all road signs when parking on the street for this program to avoid tickets or towing. Parking in campus without permits will result in ticketing.
