Letdown. is ready to embrace the positive.
The Texas-born, Nashville-based alt-rock artist, singer, and multi-instrumentalist has spent the last several years confronting personal demons—many of which surfaced on his cathartic 2023 debut EP, Crying In The Shower. After turning pain into powerful songwriting, Letdown. is emerging stronger than ever.
His latest wave of music, written as a therapeutic outlet to process everyday life, leans into upbeat, hook-filled anthems built for audiences to sing back at the top of their lungs.
"I think I'm at the end of writing about my problems," says Blake Coddington. "I've been putting myself through emotional music therapy for three years now, and it's working. I'm finally looking back and laughing for the first time. I consider it the upswing of the depression. I'm about to enter this whole new phase in my life. Everything feels new again for the first time."
Since launching Letdown. in 2020, Coddington has poured his heart into soaring alternative rock songs that blend punk, emo, electronic, and pop influences while openly documenting his mental health journey.
His candid presence on TikTok has helped build a devoted fanbase of more than 675,000 followers, alongside nearly 1 million monthly Spotify listeners, 100,000+ Instagram followers, and over 200 million career streams. That momentum has led to extensive touring throughout North America and Europe, connecting him with fans around the world.
"That's the greatest part of this," Coddington says of his new creative direction. "We're all dancing around the studio. It's the most natural writing I've ever done..."
His collaboration with producer Carlo, "Hate Myself," became his second Top 25 Alternative radio single, further establishing Letdown. as one of alternative rock's fastest-rising artists.
Notable Songs
"Be Ok" (feat. LØLØ) – Written near the end of a serious, unhealthy relationship.
"Dead Right" – A carefree, infectious track created without overthinking the process.
"Crying In The Shower" – A Top 20 Alternative hit exploring heartbreak, fleeting highs, and emotional numbness.
"Go To Hell" – A defiant anthem about the painful complexity of leaving an abusive relationship.
"Young Broke (2025)" – A reflective look at Coddington's life, growth, and future.
At the heart of Letdown.'s music is the ability to balance emotional darkness with undeniable energy, transforming hardship into cathartic, uplifting rock songs that resonate with listeners who have lived through similar experiences.
"The music I'm writing currently has been a lot more fun than it ever has been, and a lot less depressing. This is what's been handed to me—now I'm gonna have to make something awesome."
