For ten years, Let Her Sing® has brought together women vocalists from around the world in celebration of artistic freedom, cultural memory, resilience, and the transformative power of song. Rooted in the belief that the right to create and perform is inseparable from human dignity, the programme works at the intersection of arts and human rights, amplifying voices that have too often been marginalised, censored, or excluded from public stages.
The 2026 anniversary lineup features:
Mina Deris, Eilbret Dooman, Marjan Farsad, Mehrnam Rastegari, Roxana Sarrafi, and Gelareh Sheibani.
The six artists bring together Persian, Arab-Iranian, Assyrian, classical, folk, contemporary, and diasporic musical traditions. Through original songs, traditional repertoire, solo performances, and collaborative arrangements, the concert will reflect the many ways women carry stories of heritage, migration, identity, resistance, and belonging through music.
The evening will be hosted by Iranian-Canadian soprano, songwriter, and Let Her Sing® alumna Golrokh Aminian. The artists will be accompanied by the Let Her Sing® house band under the direction of Music Director Yahya Alkhansa, with Navid Ghaem Maghami returning as Art Director.
Three Films Exploring Women’s Right to Sing
The anniversary programme begins on Sunday, October 11, 2026, with three special film screenings at YBCA examining women’s right to sing and perform freely.
Presented exclusively in San Francisco, the films will explore the experiences of artists whose voices have been censored, restricted, or excluded from public performance. By placing cinema and live music in conversation, the programme considers what is lost when women are silenced—and what becomes possible when their voices are documented, supported, and heard.
Film titles, screening times, and ticket information will be announced separately.
