A LESBIAN BOOK SWAP!

Looking for a new spring read? Swing by Nonbinarian Bookstore on Sunday, April 13th from 2-4PM to pick up a brand new book from a fellow lesbian!

Feel free to bring as many books asyou’d like! The more you bring to swap, the more you can take home. We will have a small bookmark-making craft station as well!

How does the swap work?

We’re keeping it pretty straightforward! For every book you bring to exchange, you can take one book home. If you are unable to bring books but still want to participate in the swap, we will have a very limited amount available for the taking! But please try to bring your own books if you are able, as these are reserved for folks without the means to bring their own.

Do my books have to be lesbian related?

Absolutely not! It’s wonderful if they are, but there is no requirement for the subject material of your books. In fact, we even have fun little cards for attendees to fill out about their books, including a “lesbian lens” portion about why you enjoyed the book as a lesbian!

Is this event free?

It is indeed! There is no cost barrier to this event. We do require RSVPs, but those are free with an option to add a donation. LDR worked hard to acquire some of the requested books from our survey, and we want to make sure they are compensated for their expenses! All leftover donations will go directly to Nonbinarian.

I heard there would be crafts...

Well of course! We will have a bookmark making station in the store, with various art supplies to help you craft the perfect bookmark to pair with your new book.

Accessibility

High-filtration masks/respirators (KN95 or better) will be required and provided for all attendees. We will have an air purifier on site!

If you are feeling sick (even if you don’t think it’s COVID), have recently been exposed, or in a high-risk situation, we ask that you please stay home! This is how we keep each other safe.

The event will be at The Nonbinarian Bookstore, 1130 President St, off the 2/3/4/5 trains and B44/B43/B48/B49 busses. Nonbinarian has a small step to get into the building. Unfortunately they do not have a ramp for wheelchair access yet, but we will have a folding table outside featuring some of the books available for swapping!
