Les Moontunes is an Acadian heavy-soul ensemble that has established itself as one of Eastern Canada's must-see bands, continually reaching out to other galaxies with its celestial soundscapes. Fans of soul, jazz, and rock will be captivated by this group that blends catchy grooves with interstellar rock jams.
The group’s most recent album “Elephant Wizard”, released in January 2024 and nominated for Loud Release of the Year at the 2025 ECMAs, displays an expanded sonic palette and new levels of originality and maturity in their music. This evolution, guided by producer Mike Trask and encapsulated by recording engineer Thomas Stajcer, emphasizes the heavier aspect of their signature heavy soul sound. Their many influences are tossed in a progressive melting pot, resulting in a unique sonic identity.

With his inimitable vocal style and raucous live shows, Mike Trask has become a staple of the east coast music community. Raised on a healthy dose of country, blues and folk music, Trask’s songwriting deconstructs traditional genre conventions to reshape the familiar into something extraordinary.
On his latest album "BEET", Trask presents his strongest songwriting yet. Mostly recorded live in the studio with his touring band, the album possesses a well -executed rawness that can only be achieved with the energy of a performance captured off the floor. Trask leans into his storytelling on this one and sonically into his love of acoustic, stripped-down arrangements. A less psychedelic journey than his 2021 release "TV Dinner" , this record brings us back to his songwriting roots with stories of love, cars, and lobster fishing backed by 12-string guitars and lap steel.
