Les Kerr & Bryan Cumming at The Grove Small Stage
Both longtime fixtures in Nashville’s music scene, Bryan is now a resident of Fairfield Glade while Les still resides in Music City. For over three decades, the two have collaborated on stage, in recording studios and in other creative endeavors, such as being tapped to pen an official song for the City of Cookeville, Tennessee called “Highlands of Tennessee.”
Les is a native of the Gulf Coast whose inspirations include upbeat, sunny rhythms and New Orleans- and Creole-influenced melodies. Bringing his Gulf Coast and New Orleans heritage to Nashville, he has headlined 34 annual Mardi Gras concerts at the legendary Bluebird Café. With Bryan, he has also performed at Nashville’s “Let Freedom Sing” Independence Day Celebration and other major events. Les has released twelve albums including his most recent, “Child of Highway Ninety.”
A multi-instrumentalist and producer, Bryan has led his own jazz-influenced combo and toured with artists as diverse as rock revivalists Sha Na Na and country singer K.T. Oslin playing saxophone, mandolin and other instruments. He is also a fine singer and recording artist whose releases span the musical landscape from pop to jazz to gospel.
When Les and Bryan perform at The Grove, the music menu will include songs originally performed by everyone from Fats Domino and Van Morrison to Elvis Presley and the Everly Brothers. The audience can expect to do a lot of toe-tapping, dancing, swaying and singing along with the music coming from the stage.
