About this Event
🌊 Lek’lekí Puja Pantai by NusaHaus Arts Collective
NusaHaus Arts Collective is a new group of young Muslim artists with roots in Southeast Asia. Our work centres on cultural revival, shared solidarities, and liberative futures that transcend colonial legacies for Southeast Asian descendants in Vancouver.
What is Puja Pantai?
Originating from Malay coastal traditions, Puja Pantai is a ceremony that honours the ocean, offers thanks for its blessings, and seeks safety, abundance, and connection. For this gathering, we’re reimagining the practice in a way that is rooted in our values as Muslims, as migrants, and as guests on these lands.
What to Expect
✨ Community dialogue on building healthy relationships with the ocean and supporting ongoing environmental efforts in the Burrard Inlet
✨ Sharing hopes, gratitude, and blessings for the ocean
✨ A collective beach cleanup as an act of care for water and land
