About this Event

Join us on a guided tour from Lock 27 to Bowling Harbour at 11am on 2nd July.

We will ride at a leisurely pace to suit all skill levels, moderate fitness required.

We will be meet outside Lock 27, please arrive about 15 minutes beforehand for leaving at 11am.

We will cycle approximately 8.7 miles to Bowling with the route almost entirely canal towpath and shared pathways with a small section on quiet road, but the ride staff will keep you right.

We will be stopping at various points of historical interest on the way and refreshments are available at Bowling – Paton’s Place and Magic Cycles (get a tune up). Lots to take in at the new Bowline, including views of the River Clyde and Kilpatrick Hills, with storyboards detailing the fascinating history and development of the canal, railway and cycle infrastructure.

Once enough time has been spent at Bowling we will proceed back along Forth & Clyde Canal (unless using one of the trains available at Bowling and other options on-route if not returning by bike).

When we arrive back at Bankie’s Bike sculpture in Clydebank there is the option to continue along the canal to the starting point at Lock 27 or join us for further exploration to The Transport Museum, which will be our final destination. The Museum is a further 4.7 miles from Clydebank and is a short distance from the train station at Partick or Exhibition Centre.

The entire journey is approximately 17 miles.

Pre-booking for this ride is essential so we can manage numbers.
