About this Event
The Symposium is the final event of the interdisciplinary project Legacy of '67 by IAP:MCR. Working with the National Lottery Heritage Fund, we have recorded the stories of LGBTQIA+ people who have been affected by the changes in public attitudes towards homosexuality during the past 50 years. These oral histories will be stored at Archives+ at Manchester Central Library and available to access by anyone.
These stories have formed the source material for a new theatre show: 'Great Indecencies' by Joshua Val Martin (premiered in March 2023), and an exhibition of new artwork by artist Jez Dolan (February - June 2023) and a series of public events, workshops and participation.
