About this Event
Join ElizaBeth Rohloff in this unique workshop:
Sometimes in life we don’t have a physical thing to leave behind; what we leave are our values, actions, life lessons, or philosophy for loved ones. In this experience, Elizabeth Rohloff will be asking participants to draw upon the wisdom of their lives in the past and present, and compose a written letter to pass along. It may be a statement, a reminder, a memory, lists, or it may be personal connections that are influential.
Using a collection of “forgotten handkerchiefs” passed down through time, we will make envelopes to save, add to, or send along their way. (You may also bring a 10X10 or smaller piece of cherished fabric or a handkerchief of your own to use.) In this way, the fabric can hold the memories and quiet stories of our history, as well as carrying the history, identity, and spirit of our culture.
As these air dry, Elizabeth will lead participants in a series of prompts or statements to assist in writing a legacy love letter for a person of your choice. Sharing these will be optional, but quiet writing or list-making time will be provided. We will enclose the letters and tie off the envelopes in ribbon as keepsakes to pass along or save.
- This event has a $25 materials fee which can be given to the instructor at the event
