About this Event
For the 5th installment of the iCreate Series we are excited to welcome a visionary entrepreneur who is redefining how culture, history, and fashion intersect.
Tahir "Mr. Legacy" Murray is the Founder & CEO of Legacy History Pride (LHP), a luxury HBCU lifestyle and fashion brand celebrating the richness of Black culture, history, and Historically Black Colleges and Universities.A Howard University alumnus with a degree in marketing, Murray is a third-generation apparel entrepreneur whose family roots trace back to Trinidad & Tobago, with his grandfather founding the iconic Von's Sneaker Store in Queens, NY, one of the first Black-owned Nike accounts and his father creating the celebrated 90s School of Hard Knocks brand.Murray launched LHP after noticing a lack of quality, culturally representative merchandise in HBCU bookstores, and set out to change that by building a brand rooted in storytelling, heritage, and community impact. For Murray, success isn't defined by dollar signs......it's about the impact, leading a cultural movement through fashion while giving a portion of proceeds directly back to partnered HBCU schools. His brand has earned the attention of major companies including Nike, Google, and Nordstrom, and attracted celebrity supporters such as NBA star Chris Paul. Murray has also secured notable collaborations with the NBA, WNBA, Nickelodeon, and NASCAR further cementing Legacy History Pride as a brand with cross-cultural reach and mainstream influence. Beyond fashion, Murray is a photographer, creative director, and DJ — a multi-hyphenate creative who uses every platform to amplify Black culture and HBCU communities worldwide.
