Legacy in the Library

Legacy in the Library is a new annual series at the National Library of Ireland.  It will pay tribute to a selection of significant Irish literary figures who have died in the preceding year.

This event on February 18th, 2025, will mark the death of Irish poet Gerald Dawe, and examine his life and writings.  On that night, Gerald will be remembered by his widow Dorothea and his daughter Olwen.  This event will also include contributions from the Director of the National Library of Ireland, Dr Audrey Whitty, and Dr Sinéad McCoole, Head of Exhibitions, Learning and Programming. 

Please note that this event will be filmed. The event will be held in the Art Room in the National Library.  A reception will take place at 6:30pm, followed by the event at 7pm and proceedings drawing to a close at 8pm.
