On May 14, 2026, Maryland’s iconic tall ship and official sailing ambassador, PRIDE OF BALTIMORE II, will be ceremonially rededicated on Baltimore’s waterfront as we begin our commemoration of America’s 250th Anniversary.
The public is invited to join us for this special waterfront gathering marking several meaningful milestones: the 40th anniversary of the loss of the original PRIDE OF BALTIMORE, the 50th anniversary of the vision that launched PRIDE, and the rededication of PRIDE OF BALTIMORE II as she continues her mission representing Maryland at home and in ports around the world.
Join us at Pier 1 for a commemorative ceremony featuring remarks from civic and community leaders, reflections on PRIDE’s legacy, and a moment of remembrance for the captain and crew of the original PRIDE OF BALTIMORE. Together, we will honor the past while setting a course for the future of Maryland’s sailing ambassador.
For nearly four decades, PRIDE OF BALTIMORE II has carried Maryland’s story to audiences across the United States and around the world. This rededication ceremony celebrates the enduring idea that launched PRIDE and reaffirms the ship’s role as a living symbol of Maryland’s maritime heritage, independence, and ingenuity.
Come be part of this historic moment on the Baltimore waterfront as we celebrate “50 Years of PRIDE“ and look ahead to the next chapter of our voyage.
