us at MaTovu to discuss over fifty years of incredible activism. Feminist, anti-racist, and LGBTQIA St. Louisans have been speaking out across generations. Several writers and activists featured in the 2023 anthology Left in the Midwest will visit MaTovu for an intergenerational discussion on their own experiences as progressive and LGBTQ+ activists, including Clare Kinberg and Mary Maxfield. Many of the panelists lived in the Shaw neighborhood in the 1970s and 1980s. They will introduce themselves and briefly speak about the activism they were involved with or wrote about in the book, followed by open discussion with attendees. Left Bank Books @leftbankbooks will be on site with copies available for purchase. RSVP at https://www.matovustl.org/events/2026/leftinthemidwest
