Leesburg Listening Room: BackBeat and Endless Anomaly
About this Event
Join us as the Leesburg Listening Room concert series returns!
This evening will feature local DJ BackBeat and regional band Endless Anomaly.
BackBeat was born out of a shared love for pushing boundaries, building community and creating spaces where electronic music could thrive beyond the mainstream. The Endless Knot was chosen to represent unity among BackBeat's members as well as partygoers. BackBeat is more than just a DJ collective; it's a creative hub for exceptional events and sounds. Our passion for music and entertainment drives us to deliver memorable experiences for our guests. With a strong focus on professionalism and creativity, we strive to set the perfect vibe for every occasion.
Endless Anomaly was started by three friends in college in Daytona Beach, Florida. Mike studied space physics and Caleb studied aerospace engineering. We started making beats together and just hit it off. We had another friend Mikey V (also aerospace engineering) who would join us as well. We released a rap song called “Golden Attic” in May 2021, which at the time was just us messing around and having fun. We continued to make music but then separated after college. Mike moved to Georgia, Caleb moved to Arizona, and Mikey V stayed in Florida. At some point, the boys got back together for a weekend in Daytona and hit the stu like old times. This is where we made the song “Minnesota”. At this point, we still were not officially Endless Anomaly, but we released the song in March 2023. After separating again, we continued to make music through bandlab, which allowed us to collaborate on songs from all over. We got more serious and created songs inspired by Lil Uzi Vert, blink-182, and Bring Me The Horizon. We came up with a band name – True Anomaly, and released our debut album Citric Kosmos in August 2023. Unfortunately, there already was a group with that name, so we changed our name to Endless Anomaly and rereleased the album in September.
Following the release of this album, we wanted to change the vibe and make “lover-boy” music. We were able to add Mil to our lineup, who would collaborate with us from Japan. We continued to record music and released Endless Emotions Vol. 1: Love on Valentine’s Day 2024. After the release of this album, Caleb and Mike by chance both moved to Baltimore. This allowed us to get more serious about working on music, and realized we could try playing live shows. We played our first show in August at the Fish Head Cantina along with Hank (Caleb’s friend from North Carolina) and Josiah. In September, we released the darker Endless Emotions Vol. 2: Despair, and later played a show with Dez (drummer from Sate Slumber and Willowtree).
