Leenalchi

Two bass guitars, a drum and no fewer than four vocalists: with this unusual and unique line-up, South Korean band Leenalchi are wowing audiences worldwide with their fresh and danceable take on traditional Pansori. They already had GROUNDS buzzing with excitement back in 2022, and now they’re finally back!
There’s no need to explain to Leenalchi that Korean music has been incredibly popular for several years now. Because in a landscape dominated by the K-pop industry, they are taking the small but dedicated Korean indie music scene to unprecedented international heights. Samsung, Gucci or Netflix: they all want to collaborate with Leenalchi. And even Brian Eno makes no secret of how amazed he is by their surprising and innovative sound.
Following their albums Sugungga (2020) and Heungboga (2025), they breathe new life into the centuries-old Pansori traditions on their hot-off-the-press EP Here Comes That Crow. So ancient, in fact, that even Koreans today understand very little of the lyrics with their rhythmic onomatopoeia, which form the heart of Leenalchi’s music. Yet, combined with the psychedelic and repetitive drums and basslines, they nestle in your head like a welcome earworm. So get ready to hum along to all their hits with us at GROUNDS!
