Music journalist, author, and self-proclaimed “failed musician” Lee Zimmerman brings his insider expertise to the stage, interviewing artists in a laid-back, entertaining style—think Inside the Actor’s Studio, but with more laughs and live music. Joining Lee is Scott Shankland his co-host for Blount County Live Podcast.
Introducing George Carnes, a versatile Nashville-based folk-rock singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, session musician and producer.

George Carnes absorbed the rich musical traditions of his native Kentucky, developing mastery of the guitar, lap steel, and dobro. For a man in his early 20’s, he has the voice of an old soul and his writing evokes forgotten southern landscapes tinged with regret and nostalgia. His influences range from Chris Stapleton to Ray Charles, Ray Lamontagne to Vince Gill.
His sound sits at an engaging intersection of classic folk, soulful rock, and modern gritty country. As a solo act, he is recognized for his raw, expressive vocal delivery and a precise, highly dynamic acoustic guitar style.
