📚 Lecture: “Unlocking the Secret of Beethoven's Fifth”
🎤 Speaker: Prof. Delvyn Case
Da-Da-Da-DUM. These four notes are the most famous in music history! You've encountered them in commercials, movie scores, and perhaps even in a classic disco remix. But what makes them so significant? What do they reveal about this extraordinary piece, and how can understanding them enhance your appreciation of classical music?
In this dynamic lecture, Prof. Delvyn Case will lead a deep dive into one of the most dramatic and compelling orchestral compositions of all time. Using recorded examples, he will show you how to unlock the secret to enjoying and understanding classical music. No musical experience is necessary—just bring your ears!
Delvyn Case serves as Professor of Music at Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts, where he conducts the Great Woods Symphony Orchestra. A composer whose music has graced over 100 orchestras, including the Boston Pops, he is dedicated to helping audiences of all ages learn to hear, understand, and enjoy music in new ways.
