🧠 Lecture: “Thriving Societies: The Philosophy of National Well-Being”
🎤 Speaker: Prof Jeremy Evans
Join us for a thought-provoking evening as Prof Jeremy Evans examines what makes entire nations truly flourish. Drawing on cutting-edge research in happiness studies and political philosophy, he will explore why Nordic countries consistently rank among the happiest in the world.
We will look at the cultural norms and institutions that help minimize inequality, strengthen social and institutional trust, and foster solidarity across society. Prof Evans will also address the obstacles to importing these models to the United States, inviting us to consider what realistic steps we can take to improve national well-being here at home.
Prof Evans received his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin in 2014 and now directs the Managing for Social Impact program at Boston College. His teaching and research focus on applied ethics and human flourishing.
