🧠 Lecture: "The Science and Philosophy of Human Flourishing"
🎤 Speaker: Dr. Jeremy Evans
Join us for an engaging evening as Dr. Jeremy Evans unpacks what it really means to live well and flourish as a human being. This talk explores the psychological and cultural determinants of a life well-lived, examining why happiness can be so difficult to attain for creatures shaped by evolution like us.
Drawing on both philosophy and the science of well-being, Dr. Evans will highlight where these fields converge in offering practical guidance for pursuing happiness and flourishing more effectively. He will also explain why our pursuit of personal happiness is never purely individual, but carries a moral dimension that connects our own well-being to the welfare of others and the broader community.
Dr. Jeremy Evans received his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin in 2014 and now directs the Managing for Social Impact program at Boston College.
