We’ll examine how music impacts our memory, our relationships, and even our health as we break down the power of melody, lyrics, and emotion.

Scarlet Keys is a Professor of Songwriting at Berklee College of Music, a TED speaker, award-winning songwriter, and author of “The Craft of Songwriting: Music Meaning and Emotion” and “What if it All Goes Right: Practicing Hope in the Hardest Times,” featured in The Wall Street Journal and NPR’s TED Radio Hour. She created Berklee’s first master’s-level songwriting course and the popular class “The Songwriting of Taylor Swift,” hosts the podcast “What’s in a Song,” and has written songs for albums, radio, film, and TV. Her former students include Charlie Puth, Laufey, Amy Allen, Lizzy McAlpine, Sofia Isella, and Madi Diaz.
