🧠 Lecture: "Mamdani Is Mayor, Now What? Looking at the Future of NYC"

🎤 Speaker: Professor Christina Greer

Join us for a lively evening with Professor Christina Greer as she unpacks the historic and unprecedented election of Zohran Mamdani as New York City’s newest mayor—and what it means for the city’s future.

How should Mamdani shape his mayoralty, and which past leaders offer the best models—from Fiorello “Little Flower” LaGuardia to “Hot” John Lindsay to David Dinkins and his “gorgeous mosaic” vision of the city? What moments in NYC’s past echo the political and social transformations we’re living through now? And what does it mean for policy and politics when New Yorkers take a chance on a 34-year-old great communicator?

Professor Greer, a political scientist at Fordham University whose work focuses on American politics, Black ethnic politics, and public opinion, will guide us through the key characters and turning points in NYC history to better understand this current moment.
