🧠 Lecture: "How Cognitive Biases Warp Our Moral Decisions"
🎤 Speaker: Prof Jeremy Evans
Join us for a thought-provoking evening as Prof Jeremy Evans examines how hidden cognitive biases quietly distort our moral judgments. Why do good people so often make questionable ethical choices? How do mental shortcuts and blind spots undermine our attempts to be fair, compassionate, and just?
In this accessible talk, we will unpack some of the most pervasive cognitive biases and see how they shape our everyday moral decisions at home, at work, and in society at large. Prof Evans will then turn to how greater self-knowledge and reflection can help us reason more clearly, act more ethically, and contribute to more just social institutions.
Prof Evans received his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin and now directs the Managing for Social Impact program at Boston College. His teaching and research focus on applied ethics and human flourishing.
