NC State Professor Craig Friend will take a look at how Americans viewed the supernatural in the 19th century, and how Halloween evolved as a holiday.
The lecture will be held at the Visitor Center Joel Lane Museum House on Thursday, October 30th, 2025 from 7:00pm-8:30pm.
There is limited seating for the in-person talk.

Craig Friend is a Professor of History at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. He recently published "Becoming Lunsford Lane: The Lives of an American Aeneas", a biography of Lunsford Lane, who grew up enslaved in Raleigh in the 1800s.
