The War Come Home — The North Carolina Piedmont During the American Civil War
Meet us to hear the Civil War’s story in the region Carolina calls home. For those living in the rolling hills of the Piedmont, the American Civil War seemed distant. Though battle raged elsewhere, this area provided men, material and moral support to a Confederacy that was fighting for its independence. A fight that eventually made Bentonville and the Bennett Place significant sites in Civil War history.
