We invite you to a lecture, 'Introduction to Photography and Therapy', with artist and therapist Alexandra Clod, to explore the intersections of photography and psychology – from Freud and Jung to contemporary therapeutic practices.📍 ISSP, Berga Bazārs
📅 September 17, 18:30
– – –
Together, we will reflect on the philosophy of photography, its symbolic and social functions, and the role of the self-portrait in processes of self-discovery. Special attention will be given to the pioneers of photo-therapy and to concrete examples of photography as a transformative tool – including ways to bring more self-therapeutic depth into one’s own artistic practice.
This lecture is also an introduction to Alexandra Clod’s upcoming 3-day workshop 'Reflections Within: Introduction to Photography and Therapy' at Laidi Palace Residency (25–28 September). More information: https://issp.lv/en/home/reflections-within-introduction-to-photography-and-therapy
