Roots of Cuban Music: Latin Jazz, Salsa & Cuban Music Abroad - Follow Cuban music’s journey beyond the island as it helped spark salsa in New York and reshape modern jazz. Live demonstrations of tumbao, montuno, and improvisation reveal Cuba’s lasting influence on global music.

Born in Miami to Cuban parents and grandparents, Iliana grew up surrounded by the sounds and spirit of her heritage. A true prodigy, she began playing piano at age four and went on to earn performance degrees from both the University of Miami and the National Piano Guild, blending classical mastery with the soulful pulse of Cuban jazz.
