Join us for a lecture presented by Aimee Fullman where she will discuss the history of art interventions in medicine, the recent developments of the role of art in medicine, and its integration into veteran care.
Art heals. Some may find this statement obvious, while others might view it as strange or even contentious. Nevertheless, today, art is being increasingly integrated into the practice of medicine. In Nordic countries, doctors prescribe visits to art museums. While, in the United States, there has long been a practice of integrating art therapy throughout a patient’s recovery cycle.
The event is jointly hosted by the Arts Management Program at the University at Buffalo and the Buffalo AKG Art Museum. This lecture is free and open to the public.
