Lecture by Andrew Schulz, Vice President for the Arts and Dean, College of Fine Arts, University of Arizona
Spanning from the early 1770s to the late 1820s, Goya’s six decades of artist production overlap with one of the most turbulent periods in the history of European art. This wide-ranging lecture takes the title of the exhibition—"I Saw It"—as a point of departure, and asks, "Exactly what did Goya see, and how did those experiences shape his art?" There is no better place to seek answers to these questions than in the extraordinary print series that comprise the exhibition.
Details:
Free with Museum admission. Tickets will be available for walkups on the day of the lecture starting at 4:00 p.m.
