St. Padre Pio Parish and The Port invite you to an evening for prayer and reflection with scripture. Weather permitting we will gather in the courtyard next to St. Padre Pio Parish Rectory, next to the church parking lot. In the case of inclement weather, we will gather in The Port.
Latin for "Divine Reading," Lectio Divina is a time-proven method of prayer in which we slowly and prayerfully read and meditate upon the scriptures. The goal is to increase our knowledge of God's word and deepen union with Him through it. In this form of prayer the scriptures come alive and speak directly to those praying with them. Traditionally, Lectio Divina has four separate steps: read; meditate; pray; contemplate. For our group we will also have the opportunity to share what the Lord is saying to each of us.
Whether you are new to Lectio Divina or have experience with it, you are welcome to join our prayer group. Our next meeting will be led by Fr. Tom and take place on Thur, May 16 at 7:15pm in The Port.
