Twin City Theatre Company announces auditions for “Leaves” by Lucy Caldwell, directed by Owen Skarbalus.*Content Warning: "Leaves" includes topics of depression, suicide, and self-harm and is not suitable for children under the age of 16 without parental consent*
Synopsis:
After attempting suicide during her first term at university, Lori has come back home. It's only been a few weeks, but things have gone badly wrong. None of the rest of the family knows, or understands, what really happened. Her parents can’t fathom what has caused the sudden change in their daughter, and her two young sisters are confused by their feelings of abandonment and betrayal. The three girls struggle to define who they are
and where they might be going. A poignant family drama, LEAVES displays Lucy Caldwell’s gift for keenly sensitive observation.

Rehearsals
Read Through: Monday, January 13, 6:00 – 9:00 PM
Rehearsal Location: First United Methodist Church of Urbana
Rehearsals: Monday through Thursday with the specific schedule determined by those of the cast members. It may be that not every actor will need to be at every rehearsal.
Load-In and Tech/Dress rehearsals will start February 23. No conflicts will be accepted for tech week and performances.
Performance dates: February 28, March 1, 2, 7, 8, 9
Performance location: Urbana Champaign Independent Media Center, 202 S Broadway, Urbana. (Inside the Post Office Building North of Lincoln Square.
PRINCIPAL CAST
Casting 1 male-identifying and 4 female-identifying actors, ages 16+. *The characters of Lori, Clover and Poppy must be played by actors 16 years of age or older who can present as a younger person.
David (male-identifying, 40s) Married to Phyllis, father to Lori, Clover and Poppy
Phyllis (female-identifying, 40s) Married to David, mother to Lori, Clover and Poppy
Lori (female-identifying, character age 19*) Recent university student, has returned home after first semester, recovering from attempted suicide
Clover (female-identifying, character age 15*),
