Leatherworking 101 - Make Your Own Card Case Wallet with Amano Goods
About this Event
In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn some of the fundamentals of leatherworking, as applied to making your own 5 pocket leather card case. Choose from a variety of premium leathers, and learn how to hand sew and use leatherworking tools under the guidance of the owner/designer of Amano, Adan. Courses include all materials, expert instruction, light refreshments, and of course, the final product that you make!
Curriculum will include:
• A brief overview of leather types, the history of leather production, & sustainability
• Learning to use edge beveling & burnishing tools to make smooth, beautiful edges
• Construction techniques from pattern selection, to measuring, folding & gluing
• Hand-sewing using traditional saddle sewing tools & techniques
The class will generally take the full alotted 3 hours, so plan accordingly!
