Learning the Ropes - Shibari 101

Join Violet and Mx. SharkBoi for a hands-on, seductive introduction to the art of traditional Japanese rope bondage. In this beginner-friendly workshop, we will strip down the essentials to dive into fundamental rope basics. You’ll learn sensual, practical ties that you can confidently wrap around all body types to restrict, tease, or transform your play. Whether you are completely new to the scene or looking for a wicked new way to spice up your bedroom repertoire, this class provides a welcoming, body-positive, and thrilling space to explore.

• Your own rope: Ideally ~30' in length.

• Don't have gear yet? A limited selection of rope will be available on-site to borrow or purchase!

• Class Cost: $25 (+ fees)
• Venue Cost: Admission to the Nightclub side of Eyz Wide Shut is free

If you want to pick up your own rope before class, look for cords with a 6mm diameter and ~30' length.

What to AVOID:

• ❌ Cotton or Silk (can tighten unpredictably or lack structural friction)
• ❌ Anything with a "cord" or parallel strand core center (lacks the proper flexibility for tying)

What to LOOK FOR:

• Jute or Hemp (Traditional, high-friction natural fibers)
• Nylon, MFP, or POSH (Soft, durable, and vibrant synthetics)
