About the SAPhE Pathway study
We have been developing a prototype digital risk mitigation pathway for Children and Young People in mental health crisis who are admitted to NHS acute hospitals.

The SAPhE study was funded by the National Institute for Health & Care Research (NIHR) and the team behind it includes staff from Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, Alder Hey Children's Hospital, University of Nottingham, Nottingham Trent University, CHEATA and the East Midlands Academic Health Science Network.
The event will provide an opportunity for health and care professionals from across the region to learn more about work that has been undertaken during the study, the outcomes and what is next for the technology. There will also be talks from key figures in children's mental health.
The SAPhE study has involved:
- Identifying best practice recommendations for risk mitigation pathways for Children and Young People in mental health crisis admitted to NHS acute paediatric care
- Scoping the health economics of existing risk mitigation pathways
- Establishing the feasibility of implementing and evaluating a digital risk mitigation pathway across NHS organisations.
This event is aimed at health and social care professionals and to those with an interest in improving the care for children and young people with mental health needs.
