Learning About Executive Functioning

Who: Caregivers of children and youth age 2-19 with all levels of support needs.

What: What is Executive Functioning, and how does it affect our daily living? Executive Functioning is a set of mental skills that help you plan and get things done every day. These skills are controlled by the frontal lobe of the brain. The Executive Functions that we will explore will include Self-Control, Self-Monitoring, Emotional Control, Thought Flexibility, Task Initiation, Organization, Working Memory, Planning and Time Management. We will explore the benefits of having strong Executive Functioning skills and the challenges associated with Executive Functioning deficits, while focusing on ways to build learning into daily living.

When: Saturday February 10, 2023. 10:00-12:00
