Join Shelley Budinski for a day and learn everything you need to know about how to teach chair yoga. Shelley has been teaching chair yoga for over 9 years and is truly passionate about helping people learn how to safely move, stretch, and breathe in ways that are not only accessible, but can easily be incorporated into everyday living. This workshop is for anyone who is wanting to learn low-impact, accessible ways to increase stability, balance, strength, and flexibility. It is for the everyday student as well as certified yoga teachers, teachers in training, yoga practitioners, and anyone looking to expand their practice, services, and/or specialize in a quickly growing niche market.
In this 5-hour workshop, you will learn how to teach simple yet highly effective yoga-based moves while utilizing the chair and other props to help achieve greater mobility and improve performance. Upon successful completion of this workshop, you will have gained knowledge in the following areas:
• The Benefits of Chair Yoga
• Classroom setup for in-person and online audiences
• How to make yoga accessible
• Safety
• Common Contraindications and Common Ailments
• Creative and balanced sequencing for various demographics
• A variety of exercises for joint mobility and stability
• Variation of yoga asanas with the use of the chair/wall
• How to work with the aging population and the elderly
- Self Myofascial release techniques for pain relief and greater mobility
Certificate will be given for 5 hours of Chair Yoga Training.
