Learn to Play Mahjong (Three Part Event)

Come join us and Learn to Play Mahjong, a three-part course! This event will be held three weeks in a row on August 5, August 12, and August 19. Each session will run from 6:00-9:00pm. The three week structure will allow new players to ease into the game build your knowledge of the game across the consecutive lessons.

This event will teach American-style Mahjong by our instructor Chris. Anyone interested in this event should plan to commit to all three weeks.

Interested players must sign-up and pay for a seat on Eventbrite ($75.00 + Eventbrite fees). This entry fee covers the entire three-weeks' of lessons. Tickets go on sale Friday, July 17 at 9:00am. The event will cap at 12 participants.

A refund for the course may be requested up until August 2, 6:00pm. After this date, refunds will not be issued. Eventbrite fees will not be refunded.

For a smooth experience, we are asking for all participants to be aged 16 or older.

Week 1: Wednesday, August 5, 6:00-9:00pm

-In week one, players will learn the tiles and how to read the Mahjong playing card

Week 2: Wednesday, August 12, 6:00-9:00pm

-In week two players will start playing with closed hands, with assistance from the instructor.

Week 3: Wednesday, August 19, 6:00-9:00pm

-Week three will consist of playing regular rounds of Mahjong with minimal assistance.

Metered parking is available in the Worth Lot behind the store, Bridge Street Lot, Foundry Garage, or Hanover Garage.
