Learn to Play American Mahjong & Sip Chinese Tea
About this Event
Curious about Mahjong but not sure where to start? Join us for a welcoming three-hour beginner workshop where you'll learn the fundamentals of American Mahjong while enjoying unlimited Chinese tea throughout the evening.
Designed for first-time players, this hands-on class will introduce you to the tiles, game flow, and core mechanics as you play through at least two guided rounds using the 2026 American Mahjong card, which will be provided during class. No experience is necessary, and all Mahjong sets and materials are included.
The workshop is led by Aida Mireya Villanueva of @RGV_Mahjongg, a registered nurse with 28 years of experience and a passion for teaching. Inspired by her family's Chinese heritage and a love of Chinese culture, Aida is passionate about helping others discover the strategy, friendship, and sense of community that Mahjong has brought into her own life.
