Stacking Ring Band Workshop:

Come Join us in Haynes Hall room 228 for a ring band workshop!

Learn how to form and solder a ring band with a simple introduction into basic metal smithing. You will have the opportunity to work with brass, copper or silver and create two (2) rings. You will leave the workshop with your handmade rings as well as an instructional packet on the process you just learned.

The workshop is three hours, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the metals studio at Montana State University in Haynes Hall room 228. Here you will learn how to use a soldering torch and become comfortable using a variety of measuring, forming, and polishing tools. This class can be a great way to jump into metal smithing as a craft or a fun morning out for you and your friends.

The $45 and $55 tier pricing provides copper, brass, or silver wire to make wire stacking rings. The $75 tier price provides an upgrade in materials. Participants who choose the "Fancy" ticket will be provided with the option of two floral wires and thick, hammer textured wire (all silver).

All proceeds go towards the Metals Guild SNAG fund. SNAG is a biennial national metal smithing conference where attendees have the opportunity to attend talks, art exhibitions, and tool sales, as well as connect with other professionals in their field. With your support, students in the MSU Metals Guild will be be able to take on this amazing opportunity for professional development in their field!
