Learn to Make Eclairs

Intrigued by choux pastry but too intimidated to make it on your own? The art of French pastry seems reserved for those who sport chef coats and carry fancy baking diplomas.

But the reality is anyone can learn to make delicious éclairs with guidance and a little practice. And what better way to do that than in the company of friends and other beginners?

In this 2.5 hr hands-on class, I’ll equip you with the skills and techniques to create tasty éclairs that you can replicate at home.

You’ll learn how to make:

• Vanilla crème pâtissière (pastry cream)
• Salted caramel sauce
• Dark chocolate ganache
• Choux pastry

After preparing and baking the components above, you’ll assemble your éclairs to take home. You’ll also take home any leftover caramel sauce and pastry cream that you can slather on other treats (like pancakes the next morning!).

Age Requirements: This class is for ages 14+ (A paying adult must accompany guests 17 & under.)

What To Expect:

• Generally speaking, you will work with other students in groups of 4.
• Classes are limited to 12 students.
• You will be standing and working for most of the class.
• Please have long hair tied back and wear comfortable, closed-toed shoes.
• I’m unable to accommodate food allergies in this class.

This class takes place in a high school culinary arts room. As a result, equipment and supplies are residential-grade and are more approachable for home cooks. (In other words, this is not a commercial-grade kitchen atmosphere with the highest quality equipment, which can feel intimidating. This also means we have to be a little patient with the equipment and make adaptations as needed.)

Giving Back: 15% of the ticket sales go right back to the school’s culinary arts program, which will assist in buying upgraded or additional equipment and supplies.

Refund Policy: If you find you are unable to attend this class, you must request a refund at least 7 days prior to the class date for a full refund . If you do need to cancel within 7 days of the class, please reach out about transferring your ticket to a future class.
