Why on EARTH should every dog learn to wear a muzzle?Muzzles are a great tool for dogs who: are uncomfortable to other dogs, have unpredictable behaviors around kids/humans, are worried about veterinary procedures, or just to become accustomed to wear one. Muzzles have helped dogs who are chronic mushroom eaters, as a safety back up for helping dogs get comfortable around new dogs, post operative for whom a cone is not suited, to be able to utilize less restraint at the veterinary office, the list goes on and on. We would like muzzle wearing to be an enjoyable and NOT a stressful addition to that situation where stress levels are high. ALL dogs should learn to wear a muzzle so that it never becomes a stressful endeavor. Because you never know when you will need one. And they can learn to actually LOVE wearing it and WANT to stick their little noses right in there and wear their party hat. Come and learn how this important task can become just like fun trick! Working in collaboration to teach your dog this is something they can do rather than us doing it TO them is crucial when teaching muzzle wearing. We have several sizes of Baskerville Ultra muzzles to appropriately size your dog so that you can order one when you leave the workshop. If you have a dog who is not appropriate in a group setting, please come without them, and take some good notes to take home. If you are attending without a dog, and the event is full, let us know, as we will make room for you. And if your dog doesn't dig group settings, come on down to audit.
