Ready to take your climbing outdoors this spring? ?

Learn to Lead with CYAN! This three-hour, professionally instructed course is perfect for climbers looking to step up from top rope to lead climbing. You'll build key skills for outdoor climbing, including lead belaying, clipping, route strategy, and managing fall risks.

Not only will you gain confidence and technique, but you'll also meet other climbers and make new friends to climb with! Course fees include all climbing equipment and access to the climbing wall during (and after) class times.

Requirements: Participants should be confident top rope belayers and able to climb 5.9 routes without resting.

Accessibility 

The session takes place at Elevation Place Climbing Gym, Canmore’s indoor climbing facility, in a dynamic and active gym environment with moderate noise, bright lighting, and standing/movement throughout.This is a physically active event involving climbing, standing, and use of upper/lower body strength. Participants should be comfortable with heights and moderate physical exertion. Please contact us with any accessibility questions before registering.

Community & Inclusion

You are always welcome to attend CYAN events on your own - many people do! Our event staff are there to support you, and we often use light icebreakers to help everyone feel comfortable and included.

While CYAN’s programming is designed with young adults in mind, everyone is welcome to attend our events, except events involving alcohol, which are 18+ only.
