Youth Taking Flight
Provides engaging learning experiences for youth ages 12 - 24 in the fields of STEM, Aerospace and Aviation.
Youth Taking Flight was created to encourage greater diversity and increased participation of youth as well as young women in the fields of Aviation/Aerospace. In response to the growing demand for grads in these fields, we strive to bridge the gap .
Objectives:
1. To equip young people to become lifelong learners and develop essential and transferable 21st century skills to succeed in a rapidly changing, globalized economy.
2. To provide affordable/ subsidized programs that will encourage the participation of youth regardless of economic status.
Dates: April 18 - May 16, 2026. Saturdays Only
Time: 10AM - 1PM
Cost for those accepted into the program is: $450.00
Sessions will include the following:
- Introduction to Aviation
- Cockpit Instruments
- Communication with Air Traffic Control
- Intro to Meterology
- Plan Flight Route
- Reading Weather Reports
- Flight Simulator Instructional
- Field Trip
(Please Note: Not all registarnts may not be accepted into the program. Participants will be selected based on suitability and level of interest. Participants selected may be responsible to pay entrance fees for all field trips, as well as an administration fee of $450.00.)
